Finally got a chance to work on getting the car started today. It cranks but doesn't turn over. Just wondering where I should go from here? I searched, just not really sure where to start. It has fuel, but I'm sure it's pretty old. Should I go ahead and replace the plugs and wires, fuel pump, injectors? I'll look at my shop manual when I get home, just wondering where you Pros think I should start.

check and make sure it has oil in it. then spray some starting fluid into the intake manifold. also add some fresh gas to the tank, it should mix up to something thats usable to the motor. these b3's are tough, i bet it will start. make sure you have a battery with a good charge so it will turn the motor over quickly. if it doesn`t start or even fire after that, go ahead and buy some new spark plugs/wires, and possibly a disty cap. i always like to make sure an engine is good before i sink money into it.

Check the fusible links and replace with fusible cartridges.
If the center link is gone it will not start, no matter how good anything else is.
If you need cartridge fuses I can send you some I've collected from the JY, just PM me.

Thanks Rupp. Should I drain out the old gas? I know the battery is good since I was just using the battery from my other festy to try starting it

Yeah, I checked out the fusible links and they look pretty nasty. It still needs a good cleaning under the hood! I figured I should drain that old gas too....smells a little funny

if the gas is real old i suppose it couldn`t hurt to drain it out. it is kind of a pain, but its easier than dealing with clogged fuel lines/injectors, and possibly worse things if there is water in the mix.

Might want to disconnect the fuel line from going into the filter filter after you drain the old gas and filled with good stuff. put the hose in a container to catch the fuel pumped from the tank. Then just turn the key to the "on" position for a few seconds to see if your pump is working and flush out the lines.

Will do! As far as the seafoam....I looked at the website, but just want to make sure, do I just add it to the new gas when I put it in?

Yeah, for now just easiest thing to do.
1oz per gallon just want to get any remaining water, if any, in the tank.
let us know what the gas looks like when you drain it.
Hope there isn't any rust!

I had a little bit of time after work to mess around with the car today. Still haven't drained the gas since I was trying to determine if the fuel pump was bad or not. First thing I notice is that when I try to start it the fuel pump relay will make a clicking sound, I even tried the relay from the other car and it did the same thing. Then I had my mom try to start the car while I listened for the fuel pump and heard nothing. I also unhooked the fuel line into the filter, had my mom crank it again, and didn't get any gas coming out. So I assume my fuel pump is done, right?

Got her running today! Got a fuel pump from an aspire and found out it didn't fit the festy fuel pump holder, so I went back and got the aspire pump holder. The plugs are different, so I just switched them out.....easier said than done though. Also got a fuel filter, plugs and wires. Changed the oil and filter, got everything back together and she cranked right up! I still need to do a full flush....the coolant/water in the radiator was dirrrrrrrrrrrty.
