    I understand I have not been quite so active in the last few months.
    I have been reading up- just not so active in replying or posting.

    Just thought I'd update if you might be intersted to know whats up / new.

    Work has been busy but managable, home life is taking much of my time, and my wife and I are trying for our first child (which at this point we have not had much luck in the last 3 months).
    I will try to be more active here, especially given some of the fine cars you guys are pdoducing- but am finding myself slightly restricted for time.

    Anyhoo.
    While nothing major has changed on the car, we have done some small mods including replacing various nuts and bolts (to stainless buttons), painting bits and peices, finalising the roof trim and the LED floor lighting, fitting new darker window tint and concentrating on build quality in preperation for registration. (Which I hope to have in the next 4- 6 weeks, at which stage we will also increase boost).

    Late August last year, we entered the car in it's first public appearance. While 'not really' catering for small FWD's- I joined some friends from a Sydney based Ford modification forum, and we had a really great day.
    After the stress of preperation and worrying about what people thought (which BTW was about 50/50 - can't win 'em all ) we gratefully met proffesional photographer Eric - from national car magazine Hot 4's, who was willing to shoot the car for us.
    With so many things happening at home, we neglected to call Eric, and subsequently forgot about it.

    Come mid October, I get a phone call from Eric asking if we were still keen. (Keep in mind this is Tuesday 7pm) After some polite chat, he asked if we could shoot the car on Thursday morning. This is when things got REALLY busy. Good friend Scotty and Danny came to the rescue, assisting with cleaning and prep work on Wednesday, and delivery of the car to the shoot location.
    On the Thursday, the weather really turned on for us. A spectacular still fresh morning.
    Eric was incredibly proffesional, carrying not only very impressive gear- but an obvious keen eye for his proffesion.
    He doesn't even like cars!!!! GO FIGURE!
    The shoot took about 3 hours and should (hopefully) go to print in the next 2 months.
    As a bonus, Eric kindly forwarded the pictures to us in full resolution on DVD. The file sizes vary from 45mb to an incredible 55mb per picture. I am very thankful for it.

    In December, we attempted to enter a major show in Sydney called Auto Salon final battle, it being the 'grand final' and 'qualify invitational' show- held indoors and over 2 days.
    Again- with great thankfulness we were accepted without prior qualifying.
    On the Friday the car was booked at a specific time for drop off. You wouldn't beleive it, It absoloutely bucketed down with rain the WHOLE of Friday.
    We set the car nose first on the tilt tray, to prevent detailing work required in the engine bay. It semed to do the trick, though externally required some love and attention.
    After 45 Min of setup (which is in the video) we headed home in preperation for (quite possibly) one of the biggest weekends of my life.

    The show itself went really well. We seemed to get small but consistent attention (I think mostly due to the interior), and even had a small section on one of our national news stories on the Saturday night.
    At the awards ceremony, Claire and I watched the start of the catogry 4 awards. Unfortunately (but fairly) the award we thought we might have a chance at was taken by a fantastic looking Ford Falcon TT V8 on the day.
    As this award was (what I beleived to be) our only possible category, we decided to head back and pack our display as there was much to do. After successfully repacking our gear, we headed back to watch the remaining award ceremony.
    After the category 1 awards, everybody lined up to get out. Imagine 100 highly modified cars leaving via only 1 open gate- it seemed to take forever.
    I congratulated a friend on the way out (who picked up several awards) and his reply was "and to you too". I was like "what do you mean". Turns out while we were packing, we picked up a category 1 award for AutoSalon Magazine editors choice!!!
    I can only hope this may lead to another shoot? I would like that, but do not have my hopes up.

        Always a pleasure, I still have to pick up my jaw when I see your car!
        Congrats on the editors choice!!! Please let us know when that Hot 4's shoot gets published.

                  Wow that is sweet! I'm pretty sure one of your seat belts is worth more than my whole car.

                        Mick! What a great story, and you deserve every bit of it for all the hard work you put into the car. Any chance I could get a copy of the magazine when it comes out?
