  • some interior pics of my car in progress

OK guys, these make the car look a lot dirtier than it really is. But trust me it really looks lots better in person. I believe I have the hardest part of the interior done: blending the 2nd dash cluster top into the center of the existing dash and morphing the cluster trim and center dash trim into one. There is an MB Quart 2" center channel speaker above the Video screen. Paint is not an exact match but I am not necessarily trying to do so. After all it is a Festiva with no intentions of showing. I do that stuff for my customers. They get better detail.

The doors actually look kind of plain but believe it or not the Eclpise 6.5" midbass is actually a VERY LARGE speaker and it only sticks out a small bit less than the factory map pocket did. Again I am not going for a perfect match. I am just having fun with the car. I used black Carbon Fiber Vinyl and a close Grey Vinyl to cover the doors. I painted the Video Screen trim and the door handles in flat black. I hope to have the Alpine radio in this week and the Audio Control knobs in the newly fashioned ash tray soon. Then it is on to the A-pillar speakers.

Wow, that's alotta work! Nicely done! The dash has the feel of a modern BMW, with the "twin dash" look to it for the video screen. What products have you used to blend parts together?
If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're going to have trouble with it.

what did you use for the door panels, not for the covering on them but for the actual door panel stucture? is it just an old door panel recovered or did you make new ones?

Cool dash. I had a screen where the HVAC controls were located, but ended up pulling it since it never really got used.

It is about 80% fiberglass, 10% body filler, 6% fleece, 2% primer and paint, 1.5% MDF, .5% staples. Of course just estimating Ha Ha Ha

I used a blend of Fiberglass, 1/2" MDF, Body filler, fleece, and 1/4" Masonite. The only thing reused is the door hardware. I actually recovered and fiberglassed the handle to prep for paint.

Ha Ha actually it is the wire for the Audio control center channel processor.
