yes, FWD, and it has a 1.6 Diesel engine which he swapped for an identical one about 5 years ago with fewer miles.. he gets about 45-50 mpg.. depending if he drives in the hills... i really like the looks of the late 70's early 80's rabbits.. the fenders how they come out is schweeeeeet!!! i'd buy one in a heart beat for the right price...

Those are great little cars! I had an '85 Cabrio that I had to sell before moving here to SoCal, boy I wish I still had it! The diesels are ideal for a Greasecar conversion too!If it has boobs or wheels, sooner or later you're going to have trouble with it.

Would love to do the round headlight conversion to my GTI. By the way, I see in photoshoped pic that there is a snowflake rim on the back. Those can be tough to come by. I have always liked MK1 VWs.The Festiva Store
