Ya, I'm a Ford guy too. As far as domestic goes anyways. I'm badging my project Festiva as a Mazda though. It's just so much more Mazda, can take more pride in that. Among other things, it's powered by a Mazda engine, so Mazda we go!
i was bord today and was wanting to see what my motor was going to look like... i just finished re-paint some parts, they had some scratches in them so back to the paint booth they go lol... this just a quick idea of what it will look like, the exhaust manifold is not gonna be on there, its gonna be a 4-2-1 header and the oil pump is missing.... you get the idea... right? what do you guys think?
im so happy with the way it turned out it looks SWEET (imo) lol...

Purty !! Did you paint the oil filler cap too ? I just painted the fuel rail today on my B6, while I had the harness off. Now you need a new 1.6 injection decal for the intake, me too. Do you plan on putting the timing belt cover back on ?

the oil cap i took off my festiva for the shoot lol. it was painted a long time ago... the timing cover is staying off, why else would i paint the timing belt pulley lol. i was thinking of carving "sasquatch-racing" in the intake manifold. but im not to sure lol... i cut off the tabs that hold the wires on the fuel rail then filed them smooth, the wires will sit behind the fuel rail to give a cleaner look

Mine came with a plastic box channel the injector harness went into. The channel snaps into the tabs but keeps the harness hidden and I presume protected. I might need one of those headers.

ya that what i cut off... it looks ugly to me... so off it went lol. im gonna put some shrink wrap on it so if it rubs it will have a protector over it.
ill see how that header turns out when i do it. im planning on make a bunch of parts but we will see how that go's lol...
ok i was doing the porting on the intake manifold and thought i would paint it.... all i had was black... i cant decide how it looks... it makes the fuel rail stand out more and splits everything up more and also gives a bit more color other than silver and red... i only had enough to do the bottom half but the top will go the same color tho. what do you guys think?
and in this pic you can see the last red pice on the head that was not in the other parts, i think its called a "fuel pump block off plate" from the old carb ones...
and the last thing. i got a copple crome nuts from the junkyard and they are the same thread as the VC bolts, so im gonna get some studs and have them hold down the VC and i also cut and filed the spark plug wire holders so they hold the right amount of wires and dont have any extra spots.... i dont know why they didnt do this from factory... lol.
what do you think?
