festivas are impossable to kill... even there name... i broke my phone screen and the ONLY part that works is where it says FESTIVA i think its kind of funny...

also i did some work on my festiva today, i put in a new hella horn (old one was not working) and while i had my bumper off i re-located the fog lights further back in the bumper cause they stuck out far and i didnt like the look... i also change the light to a diffrent one, they came from the factory with alot more tint on the lense compaired to the old ones, it makes a crazy blue light, i thought i would like it but its very anoying to drive with... im gonna change them back when i get a chance.

the stock headlights on my car are pure (or very close to it) white, they dont look like it in this pic but the are... i think they are 4300K...

anyways, there is some more pics to look at lol...

you will have a BLAST there is nothing better than a test and tune day at the track, except for a race that is, but if you want some advise, just take it slow and learn the proper lines through the turns, maybe have some experienced guys do lead/follow with you and give you pointers, and if you have a chance get some seat time in a non-gearbox kart to learn how to be smooth and not make mistakes because if you are inexperienced, a shifter kart will only exaggerate your mistakes and make it quite a handful to drive at the limit. (sorry im only assuming you have minimal karting background). also listen to what others say at the track, especially the good guys because you will learn 100 times more stuff from talking to people than you will from reading books. Tuning karts is not as easy as it looks, we've been racing for a few seasons now, and still know practically nothing compared to some of the best. I dont think you will ever stop learning, or having fun!!! Good luck at the track and keep it tire side down : )

Thanks for the advice. I am going with 2 experienced karters. I will watch and learn. I used to race oval dirt cars and then went to motocross. But these are a hand ful. One of the guys asked what my bias was and of course I did not know, but told him that i weigh 120 lbs. and he laughed and said "your gonna slide all over the place." He is 200 lbs. and has a 80cc shifter. I know it is gonna be a blast tho.

Its all about set up, A 120lb driver can still drive a shifter kart without sliding if its set up right. if you get a chance attend a BIG race, one with national level drivers, and find someone around your size and inquire about their set-up. i think the most important part of set up is seat positioning because it triangulates the whole cart and allows the chassis to flex, if the seat is binding up the kart it definitely will not handle correctly. Also the other reason for sliding around is because its FUN!!! to drift haha. you will do great though coming from a motocross background will help you immensly when it comes to racing wheel to wheel. Have fun
