Or me and a buddy laying under a 79 mustang, changing the tranny in the pouring rain. After about 5 minutes of rain, we figured out the car crapped out right where the runoff from the road comes through.

Its the 93 I bought a while back. The trany was whining in 4th (someone had swapped a 4 speed in at some point) so we dropped the 4 speed and re-built the CV joints which were clicking. (The click went away on one side but its still there on the other side)...
the speedo gear was broken off inside the 4 speed so we couldn't check the fluid level. when I drained it less than 1/2 qt of gear lube (not ATF) came out. After a few attempts and the 5 speed we were putting in still wouldn't slide into the clutch splines, we tried putting the 4 speed in, same problem! swapped out clutches and it went together fine, with the 4 speed... filled it up with fluid and hoped the whine would go away. No joy. its still sitting like that, drives fine till you hit 4th. I need to swap trany's again sometime this week, b/c the girl that wants to buy it wants it next week... I'm letting it go for $700 (I got this one and another one for $800). Its real pretty, had a tach and dual mirrors, pulls harder than any other stock festy I've driven! Only bad thing is all four tires are shot. I think $700 is a fair price... but idn, I gotta get it working right first

oh... and thats an aspire 5 speed trany case on my head... it had a crapped out diff. I'm hoping to take the diff from the 4 speed and put the aspire 5 speed back together as another backup.
