      and I wish I would of gotten back to this road today with a camera to see if that big bird was still "just" sitting there on the road sign, it looked amazing.

                            Yep, you are right sir. That one is a male, and supposedly the big pincers are useless as weapons, they are mainly for decoration. I have two females on my front porch now. Gonna go see if I can get a pic of one of them.
                            And yep, they are the best smallmouth bass bait ever.

                              It's the length that makes them useless. They lose all their torque. When they are still a larvae they can tear you up!

                                You are right, but the females can still put a hurtin' on you. They don't have the loss of torque the males have. Here's what the females look like.
