  • Craigslist Aspire

I like the idea of bigger brakes so I started looking for an Aspire. This one showed up on craigslist this weekend. It runs but has a steady oil leak from the front seal. $100! I was going to try and talk him down until I saw the working a/c, well........ It has 112k miles and it's an automatic. I paid for it today so nobody would swoop in on it. Tomorrow I'll go to get it with a few tools, a case of oil and a spare battery (It sat all winter). I only have to make it thirty miles! Wish me luck.

I'm not sure, I was going to ask the same question here. All the car needs is a crank seal so I may just do the repair and drive it for now!

Well I went and picked up the Aspire today. I brought all kinds of supplies to nurse it home with but I didn't need any of it! I put $5.00 of gas in and drove it 60mph all the way home. I stopped and checked the oil a couple times but none was needed as it was only a drip. Radio works, A/C works. I was very surprised. I'm not sure I'll be able to take this one apart, I may just have to keep it to drive and look for another "parts" car!
