  • Finally, Pics of my '93L!

This is my '93L. I bought it 9 years ago with 23K miles and it now has 120K! It's 100% rust free, although I have no idea how, and still sports the original paint. It was originally purchased by Auto Kraft in Lincoln, NE, with the intent of making a SHOgun. Doug, the owner and good friend of Bill Smith of Speedway (who not only owns a REAL SHOgun, but also owns the original jigs, molds and blueprints), has done some work on Bill's SHOgun and was collecting Festivas for possible candidates. Doug, however, decided it was in too nice of condition to "cut-up" and used it as a parts runner for a while before putting it up for sale.

                    Nice lookin car!!!

Sweet ride, really like the color.

I just bought my first Tiva while I was up in Ohio visiting my son, his neighbor had a yellow one that he bought new while he was visiting Germany, had it shipped back to Ohio. It was a grocery getter, He had it since new and had 47K miles on it He passed away in April and his daughter offered it to me.
                    I got it for $400.
Needed brakes tho, in the process of installing those today.

Are those NC plates on your car, I live in Nags Head, NC.

Actually, yes, about a month ago. Meguiar's Ultimate Compound, Scratch-X, then a clay bar, followed by Meguiar's Tech Wax 2.0. Meguiar's products always seem to work for me.
                        Their Quick Detailer is awesome!

Thanks to all for the compliments! Unfortunately, it's far from flawless. over 16yrs and 120K miles it has accumulated it's share of rock chips, door dings, etc.. The driver's seat has a rip in the usual place, the bumper cover's are faded and the windshield cracked this summer. But, it runs & drives like new since 99% of the miles are on the highway. My last tank averaged 48.6MPG cruising @ 65MPH. I was planning a B6 swap, but after checking the MPG I think I will stick with the B3 as long as I drive 100+ miles per day. I plan on entering the FOM this fall after I re-finish the bumpers in the factory dark charcoal and add the factory mudflaps, lower hatch spoiler, front lip spoiler and Hella 500 ralley lights. I'll post new picks when done. Thanks again to all for all the nice compliments!

I notice the door window frame is body color as is the area around the rear side windows. Is this typical for '93?

I assumed that was how all the base "L" models were, but I may be wrong. I thought many times about painting that area black, but I kinda like the body color. Looks "cleaner" IMO. Also thought about adding some kind of a subtle stripe (like the factory hockey stick), but I'm afraid I won't like it after the fact. The plain, understated look has really grown on me. I even thought if I did an Aspire swap I would find some 13" rims that look as close to the factory styled steel as I could find, paint them silver and add trim rings so it still looks factory original. I would, however, like to repaint the rims in a little darker shade of silver. I've been looking for a color that matches the "Anthracite" color of the rim centers on my Mustang, but I can't find the exact color.
