  • this makes festiva # 3

Well i bought size matters old 1990 festiva that blew a motor he planned on a bp swap but never really started it, it is really clean and should make for a nice dd when i finish it. it is getting the stock b3 out of the wrecked 93 i bought 2 weeks ago. before i put the engine back in, it will get a new oil pan gasket, a valve cover gasket, water pump timing belt plugs, cap and rotor, resonator delete, and maybe a cone air filter, on the inside it is going to get some subs and escort gt seats.

Nice! Looks like you'll be changing some rack boots too. I've got that to look forward to when mine get here. Looks fairly clean outside, maybe a bit of rust around the bottom door edge. Hope the plans go well!

huh didnt even notice the missing boots, looks like those are a pain to replace, we'll see though, yes the worst rust is in the door frame it self its pretty bad there but other than that the only rust is in the right rear quarter and the bottom of the doors. the underside is very clean

I only noticed them because I'm kind of dreading changing mine. Don't think it's that bad a job tho. That's a big plus if the undercarriage is rust free. Looks like you've got a decent little fleet started there.

yeah its ok, i am kind of jealous of the undercarriage of the white one, considering i paid 100 bucks less for it than i did for my bp festiva, which is pretty rusty in the rear rockers, but luckily the stock b3 that was in it leaked so much oil that it acted as a rust proofing and saved the rest of the underside eventually the bp festiva will get all its rust taken care of and repainted flat black, then when i have taken all the parts i want/need off of the wrecked one i will be taking whats left to the scrap yard

I got the stock b3 cleaned up, believe it or not it looks 100 x's better than it did when i started, i am gonna order the parts on wednesday maybe, good news about the clutch though, it is a newer exedy like the one i put in mine, so it shouldnt need replacing but i will still check it to make sure.

i hate how most everything is special order for this car, the local autozone doesnt keep many festiva parts in stock so they have to order them in, it only takes a day usually so its not that big of a deal, im just used to haveing whatever part i need in stock. but while i was bored tonight i painted the valve cover it came out alright i think, i still need to clear coat it

^^ I feel ya, man. I've got to order a disty cap if I need one. Last time I went in, they didn't even have festiva spark plug wires in stock. But they had aspire ones. Should ask MONSOON if they'll work.

got the escort gt seats in yesterday, i got them for 50 bucks from the junkyard, they still need a little cleaning but they're in and very comfortable, i highly recomend this mod to anyone who doesnt like the stock festiva seats, its very easy and very worthwhile to do, i also have done this mod on my BP festiva.
