  • hitch?

    i got this hitch at the junk yard today im gonna try to make it fit my festiva so i can tow a small boat.... im looking for pics of other peoples hitches and how they mount, im trying to get ideas...

    here is the one i bought... i dont know what its off of but i do know it looks like it will fit...

      Looks way different than mine, but sorry, I don't have any pics of it at the moment

            I know this isn't the best pic, but it's all I really have now. You can see what part of the mount looks like on the festy hitch sitting under the car. Mine bolts in with a few brackets and bolts, and also has an arm that comes off the middle of it and was bolted into the spare tire well...

            But like I said, if no one else provides pics, I'll get better ones tomorrow night

              if you dont mind, that would be nice but if its a big hassel dont bother... im sure someone else will have a pic... freshtiva probley has a NOS factory ford hitch still in the box with install sheet and all lol....

                  Mike mine is a square piece of steel welded to the 2 rear tow points and then has a box welded to that to make it a reciever hitch.

                    I have a Festiva class2 hitch, I will have to see if I have a picture because PU241 borrowed it to make a copy.

                      I notice the max trailer weight for that hitch is 3500 lbs, so keep it under that...;-)

                              im not sure exactly what that came off of but i ran the pn# through google and it looks like it was designed for early 80's-early 90's ford/chevy/dodge midsize vehicles then a ebay listing popped up and its the same number but different mounting brackets, so if you can modify the mounting brackets there probably isnt any reason it shouldnt work.
