  • New 93 L Owner! Pics Inside!

    Hi Everybody!

Just got my new to me 1993 Ford Festiva L. It all started when my buddy Brad (bhazard) told me of his dreams to swap a Capri XR2 motor into his Festiva. This got me into reading the threads on this site learning of the Festy goodness (this is the only way for me to describe the want for a Festiva). Either way I began my search trying to find a good body'd car for under $500. This is what I have found.

The interior needs a lot of cleaning. Nothing a a weekend off wouldn't fix.

Did you get it from Craigslist? Nice. Did you stay within your $500 limit? Lot of potential there! I always like that blue. Look forward to seeing more.

Yeah actually the guy thought that it needed an O2 sensor and when I picked it up it was running really rough but once we got it home we found that there was just a vacuum leak, sealed it up and now it runs a lot better. Now just need to give it a tune up.

May as well add your location to your profile.

Anyways, yeah I could not find so much as a single spot of rust on the car. Its completely undercoated, even up along the sides of the car. I think it came from VA.

We looked at it a bit and I didnt even get a chance to talk it down, before I heard "Ill take it", lol.

That sure is a nice looking Festiva! Those grille and headlights are worth 1/2 of what you paid for the car

Now just to get a proper air intake on it. All that is there is the VAF hangin off the stock tube going to the throttle body. No airbox or even a filter. The rubber part of the intake tube looked like it had a gash in it. I was thinking ebay VAF adapter and filter ($20, probably cheaper than junkyard airbox) and some PVC or exhaust tubing for the intake tube...

Tuneup, valve cover gasket, oil and trans fluid change and I think it will be a great driving car.
