  • Junkyard Find

Simon and I went to Harry's U Pull It in Hazleton PA. We were looking for a hood, grill and headlight for Simon's car. They had the 4 Festivas that were previously there and we were just about to give up hope until we got to the new row of Fords and we came upon a 2nd gen white Festiva. Just what he needed. The entire engine was ripped out along with the entire interior dismantled but good news....he got the headlight and and hood along with a grill from a 1st gen. While we were there I wanted to check out some older Mazdas to see if I could find a clock. I found one older 323 with the space for the clock but both the clock and the bezel were gone. I had been eyeing up a pair of swoopy mirrors on a 93 Protege LX that was close to the color of my 93 GL the last 3 times I was at this junkyard. We found the car again and it was still there so Simon took the mirrors off. I thought, what the heck, for $25 for the set, if they didn't match I could get rid of them again. I think they are a very close match.

Thanks, collegeboi. Tomorrow I'm planning on mounting these mirrors. From what I've read these Mazda swoopies should fit just fine.

          Junkyard Find (Mirrors Mounted)

Drilled the mounting holes larger and.............. mirrors mounted. Not sure if I like the look but the Mazda color is very close to the Festiva color.

My opinion, for what its worth, is it looks very nice. Give it time. I think they will grow on you. You can't beat that color match. They were meant for your car. You just had to go pick them up:0).

They came off a 1993 Mazda Protege LX. That junkyard has a very large import section so next time I go I will look for more. Any motorized mirror is $12.60 which isn't a bad price at all.

Agree with Sparky, those mirrors look like they came with the car. Very sexy stiva there. Gotta remember to look for those on future j/y excursions.
