It's one of those "I could tell you, but then I'd have to kill you" secrets. But for five easy payments of $99.99...

No, just mix 50/50 black/med. sparkling met.- spray the whole hood with that.

Then mix about 90/10 black/very coarse met- spray that through (the secret) toolbox drawer liner over the first color. Its the rubbery checker-pattern grip stuff. Get it at any hardware store.

Its just like the old lacing technique.

Don't tell anyone- its a secret

I've also used self-adhesive sheetrock repair netting as a mask. If you skew it a bit, you can get the fancy herringbone look....

That's what I've used for snakeskin. It didn't work for me, though. Some people have also used a football jersey for carbon fiber. It doesn't look as good as the drawer liner.

Nice paint. Good flames are hard to do. Yours are right on. That painted carbon fiber effect is the s**t. You have serious talent. Nice to see a Festy get the treatment. After all the thankless trouble free miles of service they give without so much as a hint they might ever make us walk. Its earned a respectable coat of paint.
