  • New to the site, pics of my car

I paid $180.00 for my Festiva from a friend of mine that was trying to fix a head leak, but got way over his head (some how) and gave up. He was going to trade it for some junk, but once again cash talks. So I brought it home and it sat for over a year while I was deployed to Iraq. Now that I am back its time to start my project. What I have done to it so far: pulled engine and replaced all seals and gasket; replaced radiator (due to a big foot); new thermostat and housing; new battery; new exhaust from manifold back, to include a glasspack; 17% window tint all the way around; 14" Pacer tires; had the lugs replaced to studs. I still have a few little quirks to work out of it, but it sounds aand runs pretty good. I was really hoping it would have been done in time for festiva madness, but it was one thing after another, but maybe next year or maybe I can make another meet. well here are a few picture of what it looks like:

what it looked like when I first bought it

    after the tint and rims

$150.00??? Really??? Maybe 3995.00 ain't so bad for a real one, if that's what a toy goes for.

Hey murrilcg, I see you figured it all out. Nice rims, what are those?
I see it's an LX, did it happen to have that extra goodie under the pass. seat?

      P.S. Welcome Aboard!!!

Icould have killed the guy i bought it from. He used spray paint to paint it grey, and he didnt mask anything off. I had to use GOO GONE and Carb cleaner to get most of it off, still ahve a little to do.

Ha, I hope not. Unless you have my kind of luck. The LXs or at least some of them came with an under seat tray under the pass. front seat. Rarer than rare. I just saw my first one in person a couple of weeks ago.

ok now you got me courious, i am going to go look now. I was thinking on putting some focus seats in it, that is if they will fit. A friend of mine has a set that he is willing to part with for $100.00. They are in excellent condition.

its kind of fishy that it started at $5 then the first bid was $150

                      Welcome Murrill!

$150 for that toy sounds bad until you realize it won't need the following:

                      -new windshield
                      -new gas tank
                      -new fuel lines
-FI system taken apart and cleaned out
                      -new fuel pump
                      -new tires
                      -rust fixed
                      -etc. etc. etc.

Twinstive cost me only $190, but she now has around $1200 invested (see above, except for the rust issue). She's still a good deal for a steady 36 mpg every day, 40-43 mpg highway, and a nice tight 81K miles!

I bet the toy has less than a mile on it, though!
