  • Took my little Ninja for a ride...

We had a 2 day "fall break" (thursday + friday) of last week. I took the GRE on Thurs morning and I had quite a week of studying etc before Thursday so I was quite ready to take thursday afternoon off and relax a little. I haven't had time to just go for any real 'joy rides' since I picked my little 250 ninja up about 3 months ago. I've been riding it every day, putting on over 2k miles in the last 2-3 months, but the weather was just right Thursday afternoon so I took a friend of mine and we rode down to Smith Mt Lake, about 45mins or so from here.
I washed it for the first time since I started riding it, then we went for a ride

So, this is the photo gallery, guess I'd better post some pics:

Cleaned and waxed for the first time.

    Nice beetle by the lake.

    Interesting boat.

There weren't any signs that said no motorcycles... so why not

We saw zero festivas on the trip except the 4 that are in my driveway.
But it was a lotta fun... and the little bike did OK with two people!

Really enjoyed the photos, especially the sunset ones! I love riding motorcycles. I used to have a (and don't laugh!) a 200 Yamaha in my younger years and really had fun on it. If you are ever up my way again, stop in and let's cruise!

      I thought you were only......14?

Better slow down some or you'll run out of things to accomplish by the time your my age!

(just jealous and kidding, of course)

Now get busy and do a full illustrated write-up of a B8 swap, you slacker! :p

        B8 swap? darnit... i've done early B6, late B6, Auto B6, B6t w/ Festy trans, BP w/ Festy trans, BP w/ G25 trans...
Looks like a B6t w/ auto trans is going to be next on the block. But I haven't done a B8 or B6me swap yet!

Stivadiva - you still have a bike?

No, I haven't had a motorcycle since I got rid of my 200, but I spent a lot of years riding on the back of a KZ1000. At my age now, I'd have to have one of those 3-wheeler bikes so I wouldn't have to worry about falling over and not being able to get up!

no need to go all the way to OH, I have all the parts much closer to home
And of course this swap (like most of the swaps I've done) isn't for me, its for another member, I'll leave them un-disclosed just incase they don't want anything announced yet.. I hate slushboxes, but it'll be an interesting swap just the same.

Let me know when your doing to swap in your car though. I may try to get a day or two to at least come up and hang out!

If you watch CL you can pick up a good ninja for <2k easily. I saw one w/ <300miles on it for 1500 the other day. I got mine (8k miles) for $350, but it hadn't been run in a good 8 years or so. Took me a looong time (almost three hours!!) to get it back on the road, for a grand total of.... $0.00. But thats because I already had another set of carbs I had just rebuilt laying around. So keep your eye out, you'll get one for a good price. Their great bikes, and handle great for something as small as it is, even on the highway etc its very stable. Loves to cruise at 80-85 (just doesn't get as good mpgs up there )
