in IL I have been ticketed for white flashing lights (reverse lens) it is illegal to have Red or white flashing lights unless your an emergency vehicle. flashing ambers are acceptable - flashing blue are reserved for emergency vehicles and vol fire fighters - Green only allowed for paramedics

If you intend to keep these on the car make sure that you are never on public property when you have them on - they should be for "show use only" they are not DOT approved because only amber can be pointed forward.

if you intend to keep them (which I admire your creativity and engineering) I would sugesst doing the DJ grill mod (see the articles section) and installing them behind the grill and not so visible - if you get a cop with a chip on his shoulder he can actually write you a ticket for having them period in certain states.

FMVSS (Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard)

only white and amber lights facing forward. only red and amber lights facing rearward, with white for reverse. side markers are only amber, forward of vehicle mid-point; red rearward of mid-point. Vision lighting (head, fog, driving) must be white for primary, white or amber for secondary. Fog lamps will be illuminated only with marker lamps or low beam head lamps. Driving lamps will be illuminated only with high beam headlamps.

There are minimum and maximum mounting heights for all lamps, but I can't locate that reg right now.

Today I got the remote switch I ordered on ebay and got it put in. It only took maybe 15 minutes to install and get all the wires put away. Now I can turn it on and off from at least 30 feet away.

Nice. I want to get an air horn that plays la cucaracha (?) and activate it via remote. You need to go all the way with the kittstiva thing, change your username to Kittstiva and add smoke and oil slick, and missiles too.

I've got a leather jacket, but no 80's hair. Meijer and the general populace of the Detroit Metro area would most likely not approve.

Also, which I was working, I had the lightbar turned on, and a few employees saw it, and seemed to like it, one guy was walking to his car, looked at it, and got a big smile on his face and kept looking until he got to his car. No one saw it tonight that knows it's my car though.
