Looks like a blast Simon. A bad day in the mud still beats a good day at work. Tho, you and Nick are really making me miss my old 73 CJ.

Reminds me of when I taught HMMWV "driver's ed" once during summer camp in the Army Reserve. One part was going through water baths in concrete "pools" made for the purpose. The water had plenty of holes to enter the passenger compartment through the floor. We would just put our feet up to keep our boots dry.
I remember one of my pupils was a general.

That's an awesome Jeep! Crazy muds you got stuck up in there.
The snorkel leaked in the airbox a bit. Seems there are extra steps than just putting it in and hoping. The guy that was on the other side said they make vaccum seal stuff that actually SEALS the airbox 100% water proof.
Hey... you live and learn I guess. I drove it last night and it ran pretty good. I've got some little stuff to take care of yet, but it seems to be ok.
Logan - Nothing really. I pulled the carpet shortly after I got it because that is one of the main culprits... It was leaking water, it gets held in and then starts to rot. There's not a lot of rust on the body at all, so I'm happy with it (even with PA winters).
As far as a soggy ride home... The rest of my was already wet from having to open the door... Water just flooded in at that point. I had a change of clothes that started floating in the back of the Jeep when I opened it up. They were mostly dry though, and I had some blankets from my brother that kept me dry for the 20~ mile trip.
And no... I started leaking water up from a couple drain holes that I left unplugged... I think if I had those filled, it probably would've stayed pretty dry... But STILL, I had to get out so that I could tie on the rope. And the windows that I run in the winter open about 6 or 7" and that's it... Not nearly enough for me to crawl out of without opening the door... :\

What happened to your truck?
It needed some serious work due to previous owners neglect. It just didnt show till about 6 months down the road. Shame though....the frame was rust free and the box was fiberglass.

really does look like you had a good time. Did you do anything to project your floor boards from the usual rot? Jeep is looking great still.

Good times for sure. I learned to drive off road before I learned to drive on road.

Nice Simon - I was wondering how long it would take you to get these on here - I looked through them on FB.
So what happened did the intake not seal right?
The best part of that had to be the soggy seat ride home lol. - makes me miss my old tub

And then..........
The water got a little deep in the center. I should've LISTENED and stayed to the right.
Got it out, pulled the plugs and cranked the water out. It fired up then and made it home... Changed the fluids in the diffs, transmission, and t/c. They all came out milky... Changed the oil and filter, put in a new cap and rotor...
Seems to shift and drive alright... I'll have to check it tomorrow in the light to make sure I don't have leaks or anything.
