  • Tin_Can Update - New hood arrived

So I got the hood from Wes saturday but had to wait till sunday to install it but here are the installed pictures - I had to do some sloting of the mounting holes and some trimming of the back of it (it kept catching on the cowl when you would try to open it).
Its just in primer for now it will remail that way untill I paint the car one of these days

And lastly Steve parked next to me today so I had to take a comparison shot - Oh and these are pics of the first snow here as well

Very nice :thumbright: how well is the fitment of the hood?

fitment was relatively good - I had to slot the fiberglass for the hinges and trim the back of the hood to clear the cowl I shaved 1/32 - 1/16 of an inch- but that may be my car - remember its been through a tornado and I've rebuilt the front end after hitting a deer

You will have to make your own hood prop - eiather a bolt through the glass or make a notch for the rod to clip into

Really? From the photos it looks like it doesn't follow the fender lines very well.

I wish it was - I had to settle for the Kia Pride grill and headlights till I can get my hands on the 121 set up

Thats why I didnt say " if fits freaking awesome"

You will have to remember that I do the majority of my work in the dark by a headlamp this time of year since its dark when I leave for work and dark before I get to come home.

I still need to adjust the fenders to the new hood - they are still set up for the stock hood and again I refer you to the fact that the car has been rebuilt in the front end

I've thought about that - I will keep the rendering I made and make it morph into the real deal - it will be primer for the better part of next year since I have alot planned for the car: Teins, Aspire Swap, FMS kit, B8 swap. Its all sitting waiting to be installed.
