^^ I think so too. I told Brad I was super jealous because other than the engine issue he got way more to start with for $300 than what I got with mine and I paid $900

You should take some pics of the mini festiva farm you've got going at your place now...your car, brad's and mine!

Felt Like This Was Happening to Me

Nice post. Please keep it up. Made me feel a little like it was happening to me, but with tools and a decent place to work. Just imagine what you could do with all that in San Diego.

Will do! We're documenting everything on this car. Next update will be when we pull the engine appart to see what the noise is.

I'd love to have all my stuff and a shop in Cali!!! We're also into old school hot rods and bikes so that place is like Mecca to us! We wanted to start a chapter of The Sinners here on the east coast

I haven't gotten that bad yet! LOL Right now it's 4 Mustangs and 1 Festiva for me. I'm sure the neighbors are wondering what's up though. They're prolly like; "first it was Broncos, then it was Mustangs, now it's these!?!?" :confused3: In front of my shop I have Brad's [sensei] that we just pulled the motor out of, Cody's [lanemeyer14] that needs a motor, and mine that I'll be building a motor for in the near future. If Cody's were still the factory color we'd have red, white, and surf blue!

i see you want to punch out the block for 1.6L... it can't be done. the cyl walls on the B3 are too thin to take it out that far, the most you can do safely is .020" over.
                          Trees aren't kind to me...

                          currently: 2 88Ls (Scrappy and Jersey), 88LX, 90L(Pepe), 91L, 91GL (Skippy) 93 GL Sport (the Mighty Favakk), 94 (Bruce) & 95 Aspire SEs, 97 Aspire (The Joker),
94 Justy 4WD, 87 Fiero GT, plus 2 parts cars. That's my fleet.

^^ Ya I got to doing some reading and all I could find was descriptions saying "a B6 is a bored out B3" but when I got to looking at the bore difference and doing the math a lot of red flags popped up and I was like "there is no way you can overbore that block 7mm, there can't be that much meat in those cylinder walls". So, I stayed up late the other night and dug through tons of threads on here until I found out that there IS a difference between the blocks. So as of now we are looking at just doing the .020 overbore.

Aw c'mon Mark! Let's just throw a swap party at your place! Swap 3 festies at once! Dropping in a b6 wouldn't hurt your mileage that bad

^^ If I find a B6 core to rebuild as cheap as a B3 I will be all over it! And we could definitely swap 3 motors in a weekend. Brad's motor was still warm when we pulled it from the engine bay Sunday night LOL

Also, funny you should mention party. Brad and I were just talking about having a Festy Rally and cookout when the weather gets better. You may not have seen it the other day but I have a half acre pond with plenty of parking on my property. We thought that would be a good place for a little Festiva G2G
