  • Cat. converter pics

    These are pics of the guts of my 88 festiva's converter. I wondered why it was running bad. It's running 100% better with the hollowed out converter.

    First pics are of some pieces of good material from another converter

    The rest are from the clogged one.

      You know you just threw away a decent amount of money right? Probably at least $40.

            Right - I got what he was geting at - take the whole cat to a recycler (or the bay) and get 40 bucks for it

            What I'm saying is in certain Counties/States they do a visual check with an inspection mirror to see if you have a cat installed (required if installed by factory) so If you want to remove your cat but dont want to get a ticket for illegal modified exaust then putting a hollowed out exaust shell back on

              Some places will still buy just the platinum. I've sold a bucket full from gutted Mustang converters before

                  I bagged all the material and i'm saving it. We have no type of car inspections in south carolina. We are for the time being at least, free of bureaucratic tyranny and there ways of stealing more money from our pockets.

                    ^^ When I sold mine it was for a discounted price...but anything is better than nothing :thumbup:
