Check out my new Engine pics. Pacesetter header, 40 series flowmaster muffler, plus resonator, 2 gallons of 114 octane AV gas, timings at 14 degrees, and don't forget we gutted it! It pulls so hard! I'm going to get adjustable cam gears in the spring, take some more weight out and get a set of drag tires, and hopefully get Sport to run a high 12 quarter!

Nice. I never ran mine with the stock manifold. As soon as I got it to fire up and run I went to Summit and picked up the header and high flow muffler.

How is it better, better low end, better upper end, or throughout the entire rpm range?

That's right, I forgot that you had the header on from start up. I can honestly say that it helped all throughout the rpm ranges. It smoothed the motor out a ton, it picks up the front end a little bit more now :wink:

I see you put on '97 Jetta wheels. Did you get hub-centric rings for them? I had to for my old VW alloys.

No quarter mile times yet, but I smoked a SRT-4 yesterday! He pulled me over demanded that I open the hood. He was impressed. What do the Srt-4's run stock? He had exhaust, and K&N.

For the Jetta wheels I just had too get the ball seet lug bolts. Everything else was fine, they work perfect. Thanks for your questions and comments.

you know i am curious cause my bp-dohc powered 121 is 80% finished.

spent some long hours looking up the service manuals to find out where these 20 wires from the bp wire-loom want to be connected on the 121.

and i will have a similar setup on my car.

header 2" straight through exhaust some tuning of fuel and timing.

Is you 121 carbed or injected? If it is injected then go to my cardomain on how to hook it up.

nope. it was carb. and i already figured everything out.

but still wonder why the ecu needs heater, blower and interior light connections


i used the 323 engine wiring loom. and the 121 that was on the car.

im psyched to see this considering we have the same swap lol... i havent gotten times yet either (hard to in MN winter weather lol) i never ran the stock exh manifold either so i dunno the difference your only running a 2" exh? i think i either went 2 1/2 or 2 1/4 all the way from the header back to a straight through muffler, no cat :wink:

i still need to find a better radiator though. the festiva one is holding up allright but i dont think ill trust it once temps start getting above freezing lol. 79 preludes are a bit rare around here so ill have to have a custom one made

i love how clean your engine bay looks, i have to get some plastic wire covers to clean everything up for the vics and fpr stuff on mine... i think you will like my intake :wink:



also should be getting fred's crossmember once he has time to make me one lol... oh well i have to wait in line for any good product :wink: i mounted the rear of the trans way high i think and im just not happy with it... im hoping by dropping it down it will help handling out alot...

good job on the aspire brakes! its definitly one of the most rewarding mods to a festiva! now you can go fast and stop fast too :wink:

also as a mod look into reground miata cams, they shouldnt be too spendy are will give some pretty nice gains not to mention they will fit right into the EGT motor :wink: i love versatility!

i use 2" exhaust cause the header is ending in 2" and so i can use parts of some 626 and 323 exhausts i have spare.

i think it will be best solution for a 1.8

Its great to see pics of your engine compartment!! It looks awesome. You have to give yourself more credit its a really hard swap, especially with the hydro clutch! You and me on that one Bro 8) . Oh yeah I do have 2 1/4 inch all the way out. I don't have cats either The local junk yard here has two more of the 79 prelude radiator, if you want email me with your number and I can get you info on getting it. Its worth the mod, that radiator works to damn well. Thanks for your complements, I appreciate everyone of them.

Oh yeah, and the aspire suspension is amazing compared to the Festivas stock crap! It handles awesome
That had to be done! And your intake is bad ass, what is the tubing from?? Is it 2"?
