I was dragged screaming into the digital age by my ex when he bought me my first digital camera, a Nikon Coolpix (you know the one whose body twists in the middle) in 1999. It wsa a 1.9 mp. I took some of my most favorite photos with that camera. So broken or not, just remember -- it's not the camera that takes the photos -- it is the photographer!!Pat

I did it to a second camera but it was the exact same model. In my mind if you have updated and replaced a camera the old one is fair game. You don't have to break it necessarily to remove the outer lens and try it.
