  • New pics of my Festy & Truck

I got to spend some time this last weekend cleaning & detailing, so I thought I would post some updated pics of my '93L with the FMS springs and 323 "pepper shaker" wheels. I also added the NOS Ford (Marchal) fog lights that I got on ebay for $26 shipped. They were for an early '90s Ranger GT and came with the full factory wiring harness & switch...all brand new in a Ford box!:iconbiggrin:

I also spent some time on my '97 F250HD that I bought a year ago for $800. I think it cleaned up nice...

Very nice indeed. My parents have that same truck. It has I think maybe 60k miles on it if that. Cleaned up very nice for an 800 dollar truck though thats for sure.

It's a Plain Jane XL model with about 140K miles, but it's solid & runs strong. I did a complete tune-up and now it will get a 2nd gear scratch and still makes 16-17MPG on the highway. It was covered in advertising decals when I bought it. I spent a couple days removing them with a 3M Eraser wheel & Goo-B-Gone. I had to put a new (used) tailgate on it, one new tire (drove 100 miles to get a good used match to the other 3) and added the hubcaps. Still needs a windshield, shocks and an A/C condenser. I also plan on adding a new dual exhaust w/glass-packs and no cat.

Yeah my parents is a XL too. Your have the 351 in it? They are great trucks and will last a life time if you treat them right. My parents is 4x4 and it has the little yellow lights across the front of the roof those are the only differences I am seeing. Good luck with it she will treat you right.

oh, I hate you for snagging those fogs!! The Ranger GT was 1987 and 1988 only! I nearly bought one in '88, but the only one Tower Ford had left baby-poop brown!

and never heard the wheels called 'pepper shakers' before, that's cool! I usually call them 'phone dials'... guess I'm showing my age...

You're right. The Ford tag says E97J-19B532-AA, 150 Fog Lamp Kit, 89 Ranger GT. There's another hand written label that says E9TZ15200E. Couldn't believe I won them with (1) bid of $20!

You're not old, that's what the Brits call the similar style of wheel that came on the Fiesta XR2. There's probably a few on here that have never seen a rotary phone dial. I still remember "party lines" where you shared a common phone line with your neighbors and everyone had their own "ring" like Morse code!

nice rides! That truck looks similar to my friend's, he has one just like that but it has a red stripe down the middle of the truck, instead of all white, and his is 4x4, non-turbo 7.3 diesel, 5spd
