that's a matter of perception, my e-brake works very well so the car would not roll backwards and it's not like i lifted the car by the oil pan, so it wasn't dangerous in my eyes

If no one from the future stops you from doing it, how bad of a decision can it really be?
As long as you blocked a rear wheel, I don't think it would be too dangerous. Dean would have loved it and probably done something similar if the need arose!

Seriously, I have lifted my F250 Diesel 4X4 with a forklift before, but I NEVER crawl under any lifted vehicle unless it is also supported with blocks or stands. A forklift is just a big hydraulic jack, and it can creep down (very fast or very slow) just like any jack can. Probably even more prone to it. In fact, there was a young man that was killed here a few years ago when he walked under a load that was suspended on a forklift. Don't trust your life to a Nitrile lip seal under pressure!

I still have (and use) a pair of Model T truck axle housings that my dad used. They were a 2pc split housing w/integral axle tubes. One end is half of the gear case so it's bell shaped. That part goes on the ground for a nice stable base. The other end is cut off at the wheel and notched so an axle tube or frame rail can rest in it.
