  • Pics of my Festy

I've had this car for a while now but just now got around to taking pictures of it. It is a 1990 Festiva. Not sure if it is a L or LX or whatever. I dont know the differences between the models. It is a 1.3L with 5-speed.

The paint is not that good on the car so I am going to flat black it pretty soon.

Oh no!!! Hills, my only weakness!!!!!

given the lack of options, i would suspect an "L" designation.

Hey fastiva! I know where Nickelsville is located! I grew up in Big Stone Gap, VA!!! Not too far from where you are located!

My dad lives in Coeburn and crosses through there on his way to see my sister in Kingsport, TN.

You should come on down to NC and join us for Festiva Madness IV!

Im heading to Coeburn as we speak to go to my Brothers house LOL

I would come down for Festiva Madness but I have to work those days I already had everything planned out but then I couldnt get the days off work. I guess thats how it goes LOL

I bought this car way back in January but only got it fixed, tagged and started driving it about a week ago. When I got it, it had a blown head gasket and had been sitting for a little while so the brakes were not in the best shape. I traded another car to my friend who is a mechanic to fix everything, but he had some family issues so it took him a while to get everything back together. Overall I am very happy with the car so far. I just wish it had a little more power. LOL

DrMaxwellEdison, Nickelsville is in the southwestern tip of VA, Right near the TN line..... I could be in Lynchburg in about 3 1/2 to 4 hours from my house

Ahhh, Another Festy with pink stripes. Drop in a BP for more power. Thats what I did. Plus, then it will match you screen name. Festivas are fun. Fastivas really fun!

The car is getting ready to be all flat black before long LOL I have already started on some of the body work. I hate the pink stripes on the side.... It aslo has pink, purple, and baby blue pinstripes on the sides ad around the grille

Im looking into finding everything I need for a swap.... Im going to go with a BP most likely. I just need to research a little more to find out exactly everything that goes into it. I talked to a guy that owns a shop and explained everything that I think has to be done and he said he could do the swap start to finish for $500 plus parts. I am always really bust with work and pretty much all of my tools got stolen not to long ago or I would attempt it myself.

What would be the best donor car to look for for a BP swap?

Donor cars: Escort GT or Protege LX both had BPs. Years, probably '91 through '94 on the Protege; through '95 on the EGT. Not sure there was a '96 EGT and I think the '95 or '96 Protege would have gone to OBD-II. Others will know more about that and whether it's important or not.
