  • New wheels on the truck!

After a month, I finally finished repainting some old wheels and got them installed on my truck. I bought them on CL for $40 and spent another $20 on paint & supplies. The P255/70R16 tires were FREE, but it cost me $40 to have them mounted & balanced. Another $60 for chrome lug nuts brings the total investment to $160. I lost some load carrying capacity going from 10ply to 4ply tires, but it drives, handles & rides a ton better. Total investment thus far in the truck is ~$1300 (including the truck).

Wheels after stripping, rust converter & one primed

    Finished & Mounted!

I like the looks of your truck! I also love the steel wheels, and the red pinstripe looks good.

I actually wanted those wheels but white for my f100 I had. But I was going with more of a hotrod look.

It had All-Terrain tires on it but it's 2WD. It just sits so high because it's a HD 3/4 ton. That's why I switched to the short/wide tires with a straight tread. It's the best improvement I've made to it thus far..........at least until the first ice storm. Then I'll swap the original wheels with the skinny All-Terrain tires back on it.

                H.0. 5.3

The truck has come along well, the Black stripes look good on the White paint, the wheels cleaned up good, the little Red pin stripes are a good accent,i noticed they look alot like Weld Race Wheels.I still think your Festiva would look good in MY drive way,by the way,how is the engine swap project comming along.

Hahaha yeah got yeah I know my tires on my jeep are loud as heck on the highway but have no problems in the snow. Well except when I tried pulling a 2500 out of my driveway... But that is what happens when you have a v6 with no real low range. Plus the driveway was slopped along with the road. So once got him partly onto the road his back end slid and hit my dads truck.

Located a good B6 about 100 miles away. I was going to go pick it up yesterday but decided to watch the Huskers get pounded by Texas instead. Hopefully, today I'll get the Festy in the garage and pull the B3.
