  • 18 Wheels of Steel: Haulin'.

Not sure if i'm allowed to do this, but I dont see why not, they are pictures, lol.

Anyways, I've been playing/modding these trucking games since, eh, 1998 I think. All of the 18 WoS games are made by a company in the Czech Republic. More Information can be found here : www.scssoft.com. Anyways, seeing as I'm a real truck driver (but not experience enough to drive an 18 wheeler, even though i have the license to do so) I take an interest in modding these games, making a truck I might see somewhere. Its a combination of 3d modeling, some coding, and alot of texture work. Figured I'd show you the rig i'm running now. Its modeled after a 2000 Kenworth W900B. I used the cab of of another truck, but I made the sleeper and hood, along with the stork when my son was born. What do you guys think?

And incase you havent really ever seen a bumper like that, or a w900b like mine, here is a 1989 w900B a buddy of mine owns:

The bumper is plasma cut and has an orange florescent light shade (like in an office building) over a regular light box, so it lights up at night.

I'm seriously thinking of making a festiva for this game. But i'm gonna need to make a set of blueprints to model it, lol

Great job...I used to play Need for Speed Underground 2....was awesome the way you could change the cars. I got into some hex editing then too.....was able to do a lot more to the cars that way.

Somewhat off topic, but talking about big rigs, have you seen the new International/Navistar Lonestar model trucks? There's a dealer down the street from work and I have to stare every time I drive by. I LOVE the retro look they have. Reminds me of the old White WC and Diamond T trucks that my father used to have. I especially like the Lone Star Harley-Davidson edition.

I have seen the lonestar, as well as the prostar. There is a prostar for this game, but no lonestar as of yet. I get a kick out of them though, they use a modified 4000 seriers cab. I drive 4300 and 4400s.

we have to hex edit thing to make them see-thru or shiny. Like my stack guards and aircleaner mesh. They are a texture and the spots where you see through are darker on the texture. If you mess around with the values in the .mat (material) files just right, and hex edit the model, you will get the desired effect.

This game has basically been re-build. A single kid in canada made a pretty damn realistic map of california (so we have a good map in a god game. The map mimics the one in rignroll, but that game is a flop, lol) www.rignroll.com It looks good, but it really isnt worth the time.
