  • Fresh snow and Twinstiva

We had fresh snow last night so I got started in the wee morning hours with some pictures...

Too bad I ran out of snow for my writing!

    A close up:

Later on, I slid sideways into a nice set of pics:

I have a picture of my '89L Muttstiva from around 2003 or so that was a snow sliding scene. Some day I'll dig it up, scan it and put it on here.

I wrote "Festiva" in the snow once myself, except it was in yellow. LOL

Nice pics, I like the clean, uncluttered look of your car and the factory alloys. There's nothing funner than doing reverse donuts in the snow with a Festy!

Better yet, save it for some bratty little kid. Make a snow cone out of it, give it to them and tell them it's lemon.

          Yes, I know I'm evil :evil4:

Back on topic. That is one nice Festiva you have there Karl. Wish mine looked as nice.

Nice looking festy !! We are suppose to get our first snow of the year Sunday into Monday. Put the blade on the tractor and stocked the garage with firewood. It nice to at least bring the cars into some heat to melt off the daily accumulation of snow and ice before heading back out.

                      Thanks ya'll.

"Twin" was named after Luxstiva, my '93GL with B6/ATX and Aspire swaps because they are both red (FYI my least favorite color!).

Some of you may recall I bought Twin for $190 at 70K miles. A guy had her for several years as a nonrunning project that never came to fruition. I told him I was embarrassed to offer him that little, but it was all I had and no one else had bought her, so she was probably headed for the scrapyard.

A few years later I finally paid a mobile car tech $170 to troubleshoot the problems and got her running. After new windshield (cracked), gas tank, and tires, I figure I have about $1100 or so in her.

She's my "dream car." I'll be doing full swaps some day and painting her dark blue. No rust to speak of, and that's why I cringe as I hear fresh salt kicked up underneath while driving. She's at just over 95K miles now.

Gotta get AquaMutt (my pretty patched up rustbucket) finished to take up the salted road slack!

Oh yes. I have Mutt's old grille and another early one to work with. As well as a southern Aspire rear axle, a set of Miata solid spokes and plans for a B8.
