  • Escort wagon.

Well as a couple of you know I don't have a Festiva, yet. But the daily grind is done by this battered old junker I call the swagger wagon.

Since I'm not exactly clear on the rules here, and why we can't just post pictures, and I'm not going to resize all my pictures just for this one forum, I'll just link to a current thread I have on the Escort forum.

    Enjoy.

Oh and just in case anybody wants any more information on the Legend in my signature, here's a link to my build thread on the Legend forum.

This has tons of pictures, consider yourself warned.

Nice little ride there. Always been kind of partial to the older escorts. By older, I mean the ones before they just rebadged the contour. Used to run the heck out of an 87 pony. Put that car through it, and it still kept going.

Dumb thieves go to prison, smart ones go to work for the Government.

Wait, what? The Escort was never rebadged as the Contour. The Countour, which was the European car, the Mondeo, in left hand drive, was the replacement car for the Tempo, and was eventually replaced by the Fusion. Escort ran till 2000 for public sales, 2002 fleet sales, and 2004 as the ZX2.

But yes, I'm quite fond of that car. It's an awesome little runabout, wouldn't trade it for much.

Not to fond of the escorts except for the fact the BP fits out festies. They should all be killed and used for festies!

Now now...why would you "kill" the 1.9s? Not much to use on Festivas there that you can't get elsewhere. Besides, there are plenty of Escorts in the 'yards to pick from if you want consoles, nuts, bolts, etc.

If I had a family (ie., children) I'd be driving them around in a larger car most of the time. An Escort would be about the smallest size I'd consider for a family car, though the Echo would work, too. Heck, with children, I might even buy a midsize car!
