  • Larry the lobster cake!

    I made another Devils food cake with seven minute frosting for Sophia's 5th birthday! She asked last year for a Larry Cake. She asked right after her 4th birthday! Larry the lobster from spongebob!

                        Thanks everybody! I wish you guys could taste this cake. My mom is such an awesome dessert maker that I'm kind of addressed snob. The cake is really easy to make but it's really moist and delicious. The frosting though is what makes it. It's soooo light and fluffy! It's called seven minute icing. It's pretty involved though it takes probably 20 minutes just to make the frosting. That's before the tinting and "drawing".

                            It's a little tempting. But man the effort and time that went into this cake would make it cost prohibitive. Just the "pour you heart out" aspect would cost like $50 plus the time and ingredients! I'm serious. I would have a hard time agreeing to make a cake like this one for less than $100. I guess it took like 4 hours. It was a double recipe though. I may be able to get that down to 3 hours or less with practice.
