maybe you could transplant the drivetrain from your rustiva into one of those and have a sweet one. They are both carby 4 speed cars unless they are automatics. The blue one looks like an 89L plus and the red one may be an 89L plus? Hockey stripes and all. But that particular blue and those smoothie tail lights scream early. I wish I could find them like that around here.

i went back today trying to sweet talk them out of the blue one & they said to call back tomorrow b/c their dad owns it (75 yo) & dosent know if he wants to sell it or not, but i wont give up till i hear no. rust bucket going on craigslist next week for 950.00 i dont mind the carb cars my 88lx i sold had 435k on it & it still got around 42mpg & was faster than either of my fi cars it had a 5 speed instead of the 4 speed in the blue car, is the 5 speed that much better? tks

Idk about better but maybe with a 5 speed you get a couple more mpg us festy owners have a little too spare thou

The 5-speed does improve the fuel economy a bit at cruising speeds. You get me that red one and we'll work out a deal on a 5-speed trans.

ill find out today hopefully if pops is gonna sell or just let them rust out, ive never understood how someone would rather let the car go to waste than let someone put it to good use!

Thats just how it is down here in the south (maybe everywhere idk) they'll have 50 ratted out cars but they won't sell because "they're working on getting it back on the road." Been stalking the same yellow festie for over five years now (not hard since it hasn't moved an inch). I tried to buy it a few times, but they always said all it needed was some plug wires and a dist cap and they were gonna start driving it. When I did my BP swap I went by and offered them whatever spare parts they needed off the motor or even the whole motor, installed, for free just to see them get it back up and driving instead of wasting away in their yard. They said they'd call but they never did. Its still sitting there As least its under a carport though lol staying dry for me.
                          No festiva for me ATM...

Wow. That was nice of you to offer, and so lame of them to ignore you! Keep trying every few months. Maybe they'll change their minds...or die and leave it to a more rational heir! :p

Well I met the landlord a couple months ago when I stopped by and the people living there weren't home. He said if they ever move out he will give me a call and I can come collect whatever they don't take. According to him there are a half dozen LUV pickups that belong to them in one of the barns. So who knows lol. I will never give up on trying to get it though (even though its yellow ) Lol
