Picked up a little trailer

I plan to tow this tiny 4'x6' trailer with my festivas. my cousin is making payments on my vmax. He gave the trailer to me as a partial payment. It will be perfect for camping and vacationing with the festy. Really it could eliminate the need for the minivan.

Hitch for pulling it

I have a 4x6 that is not enclosed that I pull with Junkyard Save.
Festiva handles it well around town an on the highway.

Cream puff will tow it. I'm planning on swapping my B6 into it before I tow it home. I'm going to Dallas soon for the X-Factor auditions. The trailer is there at my cousin's house. Will be a long haul.

.... I would kinda like to see ALL the hitch point to your Festie (how its mounted) and also would like to see the trailer.

Trailer towing.......that sounds like a job for a DIESEL FESTIVA!!!
Actually, I bet a BP w/VICS would handle a light trailer really well.

Why don't you run that idea past festyxfi. He tows festivas and metros with his carby 4 speed and gets 42 mpg doing it. He is running the stock b3. I don't think a festy will have any trouble pulling that tiny thing.

I'm sure a B3 can hold it's own, but I can just imagine the surprise on the everyone's face when a BP Festy pulling a trailer as big as itself pulls into the passing lane on the interstate and passes a line of cars going uphill at 65mph? That would be priceless!

My only concern with using a Festy (stock Festy) to tow a trailer would be the rather diminuative rear wheel bearings, short wheelbase and load rating of the stock tires. Then again, I've had 300 pounds of parts in back of mine without issues. I suppose the trailer tongue weight should be way less that that.

300 lbs of parts versus 2 - 200 lb people in the back. I'm sure most of us have done that. I carried a 580 lb inline 5 cyl turbo diesel Mercedes engine in the back of one of mine for 3 days with no issues.

Attachments are on each side a the tow hooks and the
longitudinal bar is attached at two points to the bottom of
the wheel well.

1990new, that looks like a good mounting system. The only improvement I can think of would be to put a semicircle of steel (like the Curt mount) under the spare tire well with three or four through bolts to spread the force out a little bit more. That's probably unnecessary though.

300TD? My dad installed one of those with a Datsun 5sp trans in a '74 Courier with a dulley rear end. Great motor for a small truck swap!
