  • New (to me) Hyosung scooter

Bought this yesterday with a bad carb and dead battery.

50cc Oil injected two stroke, will probably ditch the oil injection and just run mix gas but keep all the parts to convert back if I ever do sell it. Batterys are $26.04 at Advance lol. And I'll be cleaning the carb today and gas tank this weekend. Hopefully it doesn't need a new carb, just a good cleaning, but we'll see.

Sweet  Those things are such a hoot to ride

I've got a carb off of a 250cc if you want a performance upgrade LOL

Lol actually it came with two carbs, had noticed the carb was removed and in the underseat storage, but when I was messing with it this morning I realized that another carb was mounted to the motor. No idea what it came from, but the factory one appears to have an electric choke? The other one is manual. I brought both of them to work today to rebuild during lunch hour lol

Also, here's the wheels and tires... Love the black/polished look, at least it doesn't just scream "scooter" lol. And the meaty tires. A dual sport scooter? Lol

Yup, the factory carb should have the electric choke. Hopefully the rebuild fixes you up. What's it doing as far as running? Does it bog down when you try to give it throttle? I ask because scoots are notorious for needing the valves adjusted after X amount of hours after break in.

I bought it as-is, non-running, with the seller saying it needed a new carb. There were two carbs with it, the factory one in the storage box, and a much much smaller one crudely attached to the intake. Going to clean up the factory one and try it out and see if it will run at all. For $75 even if it needs a brand new carb I can't complain. By valves do you mean the reed valves? This is a two stroke so no other valves that I know of on it.

Oh man, 2 strokes are my fav. I may not be a genius on car engines or four strokes for that matter, but give me a 2 stroke and i'm in.

Sorry, I forgot you had a 2 stroke.

Wish it was four, I'm a little more comfortable with fours. But still supposed to have more power than a four.
