Wow! Ours is doing pretty well, but I think bunny rabbits keep eating our squash. We've only gotten one so far, but I would go out one day and there'd be little ones, the next day nothing lol. Our tomatos are getting big, still not turning though. But the best of all is the jalapenos. The are growing great! I guess the bunny rabbits don't like jalapenos lol, but they've been seriously munching on our bell peppers, none of them have made it past about an inch around lol.
The cucumbers are just crazy! And I have one tomato that is almost ripe in the pic above. I do have a little lemon drop pepper plant. It's producing the small hot pepper plants you can see in the pic with the 7 cucumbers and the yellow bell pepper. Good stuff! Oh you can deter the critters with fox urine. http://www.google.com/products/catal...ed=0CGYQ8wIwAA
Paul with all your cool activities do you have time to work ???!! Lol
Those are those nice veggies!
No actually. My wife is an RN for 13 years. I am a Mr. Mom. Of course that means I work my butt off. Laundry, dishes, yard work, car work etc etc. I also try to turn a buck flipping cars and working on all the festivas I've turned my friends on to. Today I have my girls. I am cutting a doggy door in a metal door for our new dog. I have to wash 10 quilts and blankets from Monday's rainy camping trip. And generally trying to catch up on housework and get ready for Thursday's camping trip tomorrow! My friend Jack says I'm the busiest guy without "a job" that he knows!
Edit: If you want to try something new try eating the squash flowers. You can put it on bread, quesadillas or make pan fried tacos with them.
Take off the stem and the pointy parts at the bottom of the flower. Chop up the flowers in chunks. Fry chopped onion and garlic in a pan and when that is ready add in the flowers till it's done. It goes awesome with green salsa.
Good job Paul !!! I had a ripe cherry tomato on the 4th of July, but didnt have ripe large tomato till yesterday. Nothing like growing your own. Whats this ?

It's cilantro. We got some from it but failed to cut it back. Once it flowers it's supposedly not good for the cilantro itself. The seeds however are supposed to be good. They are called coriander.
Pulled about 1/4 of my carrot crop today, it yeilded 15 pounds. Now Ive got to wash, peel, slice, and vacuum pack. Ill have more then enough for the coming year.

Nice! I keep getting cucumbers as long as my arm. I have dozens of big green tomatoes. 2 that ripened were eaten by bugs. I have to figure out how to stop that.

I had a lot of green tomatoes on before this 100 degree weather settled in. Everything is sweltering now. Im tempted to dig up everything and cut my losses.
