My 4 cucumber plants are still cranking out 2 foot long cukes. About 2 or 3 a day! All of my tomatoes are still green due to my late start. Dad is supplying the tomatoes for now.

Those are some long cucumbers !! Mine rarely exceed one foot. Do you ever make cucumbers and onions in equal parts water and vineger, with sugar, salt, and pepper ? A traditional lite summer side. I keep a constant batch in the frig.

I don't know what the deal is on these cucumbers. They are still perfect in taste and texture including the seeds. I did wrap them in a cylinder cage like my tomatoes. The cukes grow straight down. The tomato plants are pushing 6 1/2 feet. My wife has been picking the nearly ripe ones. We have a dozen or so in the past two days. She just showed me a minute ago.

We do the onions in salt pepper sugar and vinegar. We put that on pinto beans and serve it with cornbread. We had that with cukes for dinner tonight with venison tenderloin, shrimp, croissants, applesauce, and the lemon drop peppers that finally turned yellow! they were good green and tiny. But now they are about 2.5" long, bright yellow and hotter. They are not as hot as jalapeños. I like spicy food a lot. But we both could only finish half a pepper with dinner. Yum!

The wife made some stuffed peppers the other day. She had some stuffing mix left over and stuffed some jalapeno(s) and hot wax peppers. They got my attention !! :blob6: Fortunately there were some biscuits handy. Sinuses still clear !

Todays haul, I've filled the new freezer and order a dehydrator to handle the excess. The coons got into the melon patch last night ( my fault, I let the grass grow up around the electric fence and let the grounding rod dry out ) and ruined five ripe mellons. That hurt !! Here is what was left. There are still many unripe mellons. Coons seen to know the best time to raid the patch. Ive had it happen to sweet corn before.

The wife made two gallons of salsa last week. Man it is good. Gave some to the neighbors and they raved about it as well. She did such a good job on it I picked these five gallons of ingredients this morning so she can make some more. She has her work cut out.

I didn't get a veggie garden planted this year. BIG plans for next year, though, This yard is perfect for it.... I just don't know what I'm going to do with all the produce! LOL

I finally have room for watermelon/pumpkin/cantaloupe. SUPER excited.

Hey Paul, check out these tomatoes. They are smaller than a marble but larger than a pea. There are 30 perfect tomatoes in this container. They are called "Maxs Wild Cherry". They have the most powerful tomato flavor you could imagine x 2. They're like tomato Tic Tacs. Throw a big spoon full in a salad, you're good.

^ Nice haul, you gonna make some salsa ? I got the dehydrator I ordered today and read the manual some. Think I going to try it out the next rainy day. According to the book that came with it 15 pounds of tomatoes will dehydrate down to 1/2 pound or 2-3 pints.
