Nice "beach" car King!

Why don't you consider some bed liner or something like that for your floor (especially if you will really be truckin' to the beach a lot) for a "washable outable" look. Maybe then add some rubber floor mats. Or cut and paste some rubber matting to the floor.

Curious if you reinforced the car anywhere as the roof is an important structural part of a car? Looks cool...I need one for the beach here!

build a top that u can bolt on and off, so the rain wouldnt bother u from drivin it, it would b like a k5 blazer but a festiva, thatd b cool

not sure if u did it already, on the hatch, measure and cut it to where u can make it to a tail gate, so it would give it that truck look, then it would b easier for u to make the topper out of the roof, put plexie glass for windows where u can still ope the back glass up like a topper

x2 ^ you need to put a brace behind the front seats to give it some stability!! great job though i like it!

Sweet man had a buddy that did the top chop to a K car & have to agree about a brace being a good idea behind the front seats. Cool ride tho man & look forward to watching progress

Or, keep it structurally solid by not cutting the roof off; just unbolt the doors, hatch and remove the rear windows. Maybe an aftermarket sunroof. Perhaps the best overall compromise, since you could restore it to original at some later date if you wanted to.

Also, you could do a ragtop, but it's too late for all that with this car, lol!
Just put a cage in it with some dingleballs and your good to go. You can get bedliner in different colors too, and it's really easy to apply with the pro quality stuff. My co-worker just did it to his Cherokee with a roller and it looks awesome. He spent less than 100 on all the stuff to do it too, but his is black. Put some weatherproof buggy seats in it and be sure to protect your electrical connections with plenty of Di-elec grease. You have a carb, so no ECU to worry about, but you don't want lighting problems and burned wires.

i need to put a cross bar in there. im thinking behind the front seats. when i have a loaded whip its kinda hard to push the doors open. i might need to add some sort of roll cage. good looking out. thx

good call, but you know you can get diffrent color for them?! everything from white to red, blue, black, and even burnt orange! hook'em!!

i was worried about the structural integrity if i had an opening tailgate. so i welded it in place. made it ALOT more ridged!!
