  • New Torq Thrust II's on the Mustang

Before, had 14x6 Keystone Klassics 195/75/14 rubber. But with my front disc upgrade that I am about to do, the 14" wouldn't fit.. so something had to be done.

Then got American Racing Torq Thrust II's 17x8 and 4.75 Backspacing all around wrapped in 235/45/17 rubber:

I prefer the Klassics, but your new wheels still look nice. I just like some flat black centers instead of all chrome.

^^^^ like he said, very good choice of rims. That style goes with the age of the car.

For the 64.5 to 66 years, they are notorious for tire rubbing on the fender / upper ball joint clearance issues, especially on slightly wider wheels. I really wanted to go with 16's, but that is the worst size for wheel (unless you go with 16x7 or 16x6 wheels) as they will hit with the wrong backspace. Torq Thrust II offered the correct backspacing for the 17x8 rim (clears the ball joint, and tucks it just inside the fender so no rubbing) and I wanted them all the same all around for rotation and longevity. I wanted to keep the 'classic' look, not BBS or another more modern style rim, so this seemed to be the right token for meeting my intent.
Thanks for the comments, I am happy how it turned out... I'll get some more pictures of the front/rear/angle when i get it washed.

Torq thrust wheels are a nice combo of classic styling with modern technology. I actually prefer them over the Kragar SS's my dad has on his chevelle.
