  • saw these the last couple of days....(added more pics)

had to post the van....purple shag and tie dye t-shirt material...not to bad of shape either. The red car is , the name escapes me, said it was a real production car but kit cars were also made to imitate them. Said it was THE car before Ford brought out the 429 Cobra on the race circuit. German engine, Lotus suspension, inboard breaks (whatever that means....lol)....made to race.

Its a TVR. One of the older models. I would LOVE to have a TVR. Some models had, I think, American drive trains. Only seen a few on the road, been a while!:blob6:
If it don't fit, use a bigger hammer!

Yeah, I looked it up. TVR hasn't made a car since 2004, but is still in business,& plans new cars. They are a British company. Used to be the 3rd largest specalty sports car maker. And a few models had Ford 427 motors, same ones Shelby used in his Cobras.drool

Yup, that was 64-67 TVR Griffith. 300 of them were produced between 1964 and 1967. Taz and I know the guy who literally wrote the book on them. He is one of the original TVR test drivers and purchased the rights to reproduce both cars and parts. No kidding, he only lives like 5 miles from me LOL

          This is a Griffith 200

          This is a 66 Griffith 400

          And this is a 600

I got to see one of the original 400's he has at his place just last week. drool

Willie, was the first one (white) a Sunbeam Alpine?

Inboard brakes are mounted closer to the differential to effectively reduce the unsprung weight. Could be part of a DeDion rear axle setup?

            TVR Griffith! Yum!!!!

It looks like an old Gullwing Benz chopped down.

                    some I just saw today....

this was at work...1 owner...87, said it had 167,000 on it and still ran perfect...says why buy it if you are not going to drive it....I AGREE!!

These 2 were at the same place....kind of supped up hearse (hard to see)

Normally I do not like rims like these on cars like this....but I think they worked on this one (for me anyway). Also saw it a few days ago raised in the front (air ride).
