  • Replaced the Festy for better Mileage

I recently parted with my much loved little Festy, I missed her almost as soon as she was gone, but I think it's in good hands, a young guy bought it who I think has good intentions and hopefully will end up on here soon enough.

Anyways, after just a few days of catching buses to and from work i'd had enough! So through Craigslist I found a guy that imported around 50 lil scooters from Osaka - Japan.

This lil bad boy is a Honda pretending to be Italian, as you can see, a direct Vespa imitation, but the Japanese doing what they do best made it cheaper, lighter & more plastic.

    Here are some specs.

    Engine Power: 49cc, 3.6 KW (5.6 HP) @ 6500 RPM
    0-50kms/ph: 12 Seconds
    Mileage: 2.8L/100kms - 84MPG
    Kerb Weight: 69kgs
    Tank Capacity: 4.2 liters

Looks sweet! My friend has a Vespa (an actual vespa :p) It's a 3 speed clutch it's fun to ride. If I didn't need to go over 30 mph to get places I might actually do it.

Haha today my first day riding it and it was raining! I did choose a stupid time to buy a scooter in Vancouver where it will rain for the next 4 months straight.

                  Oh wells!

                    wow...I couldn't get rid of a cage for a scooter...especially a festiva.

I have little honda 250 motorcycles that get 50mpg here in town and got 60-65 on flat ground back home. I plan to have a "scooter" someday...but one that goes a lot faster than 50kph, lol

Honda Powersports - home of motorcycles, ATVs and side by sides built with legendary quality, innovation and performance.

"77 MPG - Honda's fuel economy estimates are based on EPA exhaust emission measurement test procedures and are intended for comparison purposes only. Your actual mileage will vary depending on how you ride, how you maintain your vehicle, weather, road conditions, tire pressure, installation of accessories, cargo, rider and passenger weight, and other factors."

would be pretty fun. might get pretty good fuel economy if you take it easy and dont weigh very much.
