Yesterday afternoon was beautiful, sunny, calm and quiet. All our dogs (all 9 of them) were in the back yard lounging in the sun and I was working in the garage. All of a sudden the dogs went ballistic, barking, squealling and fighting. I ran into the back yard, expecting to find that another tree rat (squirrel) fell out of the big Walnut tree and into the waiting jaws of death. Instead, I found this little guy.................
He was sitting on the air conditioner unit, behind a 36" high barrier fence and just out of reach of the snapping jaws! We managed to catch him (not real hard, as he was very friendly) and took him down to the local Humane Society. I would have loved to keep him, but with all the dogs & cats, our house is not very "bird friendly".
