Hey willie, just want to say thank you for all the work and time you spent finding the owner and finding him a new home. Up until three days ago I worked at a animal shelter and did the maintenance there. Some of our counties allow pit bulls and some don't. If the dog is friendly we will not put them down unless they are in there on a bite order or if they are really mean. Pit bulls are just like any other dog, it depends on how the owner trained them. We have had pit bulls come in and try biting thru the wire to get to you. But we have also had them in there that were regular babies and just adorable. Like I said, and it goes for any dog, it depends on how the owner trained them. The bad thing about pit bulls that vary from other dogs, is that they go for the throat on other dogs or humans and have a death grip that you cannot pry loose. You have to knock them out or shoot them to get them to let loose. That dog you had does look like he is part pit and part bulldog. So good job.

Thanks....I would have done it for any animal that was not mean...
Just got back from dropping him off at his new home....if it does not work out they are going to call me and I will take him back.
He will have 68 acres of farm to run around on and he stays indoors....I just wish he didn't give me that LOOK when I was leaving. In the short time I had him I almost was not going to let him go.
After looking at him more....he may very well be full blooded pit....but he was on the very large side of pit bulls....and more of a pussy cat then any thing else. Izzy cried when we left him but we will be able to visit if we need too.

great job & hes most likely all pit but could be mastiff pit cross they are great dogs but one that your not familiar with is to risky around other pets & kids b/c if they do bite its bad news! i had 6 of them at one time all from pups & they are my favorite dogs. i hope he has found a great forever home. a great dog to have around children are boxers if you ever do purchase or adopt another dog for izzy.

Great job, sir! As the proud owner of two bully mixes, I'm glad you were so quick to help this dog out. Many road-weary pups find their way into our back seat. Yep, they are big babies!

Talked to the new owner yesterday....she tells me that they are becoming one big happy family. Said she was doing some internet research and is thinking that the dog is ,I believe she said, a French Mastiff. The same kind of dog that was in the movie Turner and Hooch. Which happens to be the name she gave him...Hooch.
Said they gave him a bath....took the both of them to pic him up and put him in the tub....but then he just sat there and let them bathe him....now he keeps going into the bathroom and jumping in the tub like he wants another bath....lol.
She said they have been looking for a dog for 2 years and are so glad they were still looking when I met her.
I am very happy the way this has turned out so far....only thing I would have liked more is if I could have kept him....

You're number 1 in my book! Hooch found a good home because you made that extra effort. Not a lot of people would have done that.

A couple months ago a 75lb pitbull mix dog showed up around my parents house. She is still a puppy and as friendly as can be. My parents and brother took her in. She loves to chew stuff up. Chewed up my brothers complete gasket kit for an engine he was working on. Also my brother in the pic.
