              it was one of the alignment pins on the flywheel. that sob popped right out and went to work.

                  the transmission is junk because of that little hole. amazingly the clutch and flywheel are fine

                    So the leak is from your transaxle insides, where the fluid is (when full), to the bellhousing area?

                        Yeah, weld it up and it'll be fine.

                        In fact, I'd tell you to clean the area thoroughly and rough it up, then just use some PC11 epoxy to cover the hole, if you can't weld.

                        I've had engine blocks welded shut after rods let loose. The few times it's been a clean piece popping out, rough up the mating surfaces, apply epoxy, install broken piece, rebuild engine.

                              Yep cheapest and easiest way. I had to patch the diff casing on my 89 because someone cracked the casting trying to pop a axle out.
