Hey shadetree, i had a post 11-23-2011 (Putting on a Towbar) and showed pictures see if you can find it. I got my towbar off ebay, 63.00 and free shipping. Its a very good hitch and easy to put on. It was under custom interior and exterior. Maybe that will help you.

I think you need some more substantial than a Class I hitch for towing a festiva. For a small trailer maybe not, but with another car you definitely want a good sturdy hitch.

              LOL, too true!

Its unnerving enough when towing a car long distance to look in the mirror and wonder why the ______ behind you is tailgating you!

Its .250 wall 2" square tubing run through the bender to clear the spare
tire well. It was cut to fit the freight tie downs. I used grade 8 bolts then
welded it solid. I cut the tongue out of 1/2" by 2" strap. I use the changa
ball quick change. The safety chains loop around the square tubing.
Here is a pic yesterday before I loaded the firewood, it unloaded now
I could shoot the hitch if you want. This shows how the exhaust routes,
I did make an exhaust tip and changed the muffler mount as well.

TY Dan, I was trying to do what you did but couldn't figure it out. There was also one from 11-23 that shows how I attached the brackets to the car front.

Way too much work imo, just fab something bolt on with pvc pipe, paint, and hang a clevise or bull balls from it and call it a good job.

Nothing funner than putting a CRX on your trailer and towing it around town !
Probably get better gas mileage towing the crx than it does on its own!

The tow bar really doesn't need fabbing..for a one time you can double nut
with grade 8 bolts. Bar goes outside front tie downs, bolt goes through from
the outside. washer and double nut at tie down. Use nylock as the last nut on.

If you keep the bar weld nipples to the tiedown that the pins go through.

Well the hitch I was looking at can't be a class 1 ,it has a 5,000 lb cap . That should be plenty for pulling a festiva and looks heavier then the one on movin car .
New build on the way .
