You should come and show off your car at Westiva. It's only a 9 or10 hour drive

Haha, Scott (Leapin) is trying to talk me in to it. I drove it to Kelowna a month or so ago and discovered it doesn't like cruising at 100 or going up hills for long periods of time. I am awaiting a new Rad, but it won't be here in time.

Nothing wrong with a little bump & grind. That is, when you're shoehorning a 1.6 VTEC into an early Civic... I hear they get amazing fuel mileage and have no problem outrunning the co...I mean, passing semis on the uphills.

Been a while since I have done anything to the Civic as I have just been enjoying driving it daily. For the first time in 6 months I started to have some mechanical let downs so decided to spend some money on her.

Firstly, the old girl was running hot, not overheating, but definitely hotter than I (or it) liked. I found the thermostat was dead so replaced that.

Next up, I bought a new aluminum rad from ebay for a 92-95 Civic which lead to a few fitment issues, but nothing we could work out with a few 'alterations' to the engine bay and relocation of the rad drain plug.

Another issue that emerged was difficulty starting when the car was hot / warm. I replaced the ignition coil, distributor cap & rotor & replaced the electronic ignitor setup.

While I had everything apart I decided it was time to get out the rattle can & give my engine bay some colour.

Lastly, I decided to remove all the emblems from my car and try revamp them a little - a work in progress, but getting there.

                carpets

So I ordered in some replacement carpets and got around the putting them in today.

The original carpet against the new.

The junk I swept out from under the old carpet

The new carpet installed, although not yet secured. I have to find some new stainless screws to replace the old rusted ones that were in there.

You have a nice touch with the appearance of your cars. And of course your photography is always top notch.
