My new trailer i made

I'm getting a new festiva and I wanted to make a trailer I could tow with it. My brother had an old jet ski trailer he didn't want so I started with that. I cut the front down so it wasn't as long and took off the supports for the jet ski. I put on a couple of 2x4s to lift it up a little. Then the plywood deck.

Then I thought what am I going to do when I go get wood or something of that nature. So then I got working on the sides. They are 2x6s with a small gaps to get a total of 12inch sides. I put a rear swinging gate on it. I will get more pictures of it later with side shots and everything.

So what does everyone think. Good or bad comments are welcome. I don't mind constructive criticism.

That is a great way to recycle a trailer!
Watch your tongue weight as you load
it the first few times. Its hard to get a
festy up hill through the trees in soft
ground with 300 lbs tongue weight !
That should be a real sturdy trailer.!

It was fun making it. Now I need to make a hitch.

That's the same series of events I went thru. Built my trailer THEN the hitch.

Well thank you everybody. I know about the tongue weight. It is going to be rough. The trailer axle is back really far. But I try to keep the load back as far as I can.

Here is my new hitch i made. It was off a volvo. It worked out perfect to come out of the stylus licence plate hole. Here are some pictures.











I would have some pictures of it hooked up but my radiator blew in my car and it is getting fixed. I'll get more when it is fixed. Thanks for looking.
