I'm not sure how safe it is, but that third bucket seat is really cool.

I'd fix up what I could in terms of tune-up, other upkeep, rust, etc. so it will be a good DD and save you money right off the bat.

Then if you run across a better body Festiva, you might plan a big swap for that one. This one would remain your go getter car and backup.

Or you might eventually decide this is the one you want to build up, and in the meantime, you've lived with it for a few months and have a better idea what all it will need for your purposes.

Rather than waste money on a whooping great sound system that is confined in a tin can, in order to deaden the excessive road noise, holed exhaust and worn bearings maybe you'll want to try tracking down a decent headlight for that little car.
It won't take you very long to appreciate being able to routinely pass gas stations and drive for an entire week on $35. By Ontario standards your rust issues appear to be minor. What holds everything together underneath is what really counts.

you need to find a canadian whos going to myrtle beach and pick you up a rust free body to take back on a dolly.

Personally I would replace the rear door, Then sand everything down and repaint it.
Then add plastic guards around the wheel wells.
                    Also a new front window...
                    Maybe some more stickers!
