My 92 Festiva sport got a new back bumper and windshield wiper arm this weekend. Thank goodness for junk yards. These photos show b4 and after.

What kind of shape was your old rear bumper beam? Not the cover or the foam insert but the metal bumper beam that bolts to the frame. If it is solid (not all rusted out ) and straight I would be interested in buying it.sigpic

I dont think the inner beam is bad, you can see the old bumper in the one photo. The damage is pretty shallow.I can take the outer cover off and check it out tommorrow.

I looked at the old bumper photo, and I don't think the beam is hurt from the two small impressions. From the general look of the car the rear bumper beam may be sound. If so, Id be interested in it. let me know. Its in a place where salt collects and is hard to clean out. The wife's car needs one.sigpic

I took off the cover this morning to find the beam in rougher shape than I figured. It is quite rusty and there is a significant bend in it too. Here are photos of it, you decide.

mine is rustier than that :-) I would suggest just getting it sandblasted and spray it with like 6 coats of rustoleum.
Does it still mount with that bend? Bumpers are only designed to save your car from a 5 MPG speed hit, so I wouldn't worry about the bend.
I might have to make a solid heavier bumper beam for mine later this summer, just so it wont rust like that.

Yeah. they all look the same. I figured as clean as your car looks that the bumper might be a good replacement for mine. Guess a guy will have to get one made. Thanks for taking the time to send the pics and all, appreciate it.sigpic
