Black snakes have a good temperment. I had a couple when I was like 12 yrs old. I got bit only once, and I had just gotten him home, was letting him slither around the kitchen floor a bit, and I grabbed his tail, surprised him I guess, he nailed me on the finger.
Guess he was telling me NOT to grab his tail! lol
Never tried to bite me again, though.Dan
